so christmas is here again with its tinsel and lights
the city is covered in snow
at our house family and friends have gathered tonight
to eat drink and share the holiday cheer
and this december like decembers before
we find ourselves reflecting
contemplating our lives as another chapter comes to a close
so here i sit at the christmas party
with a belly full of wine
while the celebration dances around me
and i dream of you
and you’re singing to me
ooohhh-ooohhh-ooooooh-oooohh

i don’t talk
just listen to the sleigh-bell song
and i felt tipsy
the snow is falling all around
i can’t stand up
cause santa claus is coming to town
so hold on to me this christmas

but soon the music will fade
the last of the wine will be poured
and the dancing will cease
these old friends will make their way home
to sleep a restless sleep as st. nick makes his rounds
and by tomorrow afternoon as the last of the wraping paper is tossed into the fire

The Mars Volta – Octahedron – 2009

The Mars Volta es un grupo de rock con influencias de todos los géneros musicales que te imagines (post-rock, salsa, hard rock, sicodelia, son cubano) liderado por Omar Rodriguez-López (tremendisima guitarra) y Cedric Bixler Zabala (increíble contra tenor) ex-miembros de la extinta agrupación de rock At the drive-in.

Octahedron es su cuarta placa, en la que a su enorme lista de influencias y elementos musicales; le agregan elementos electrónicos (Copernicus) y vuelven a las baladas que habían descuidado desde el gran álbum Frances The Mute (2005) para crear algunas de las piezas mas dramáticas que e escuchado en mucho tiempo.

Sean Bienvenidos todos los lectores a mi primer escrito, en un blog que esta ves estoy seguro que si lo voy a (usar) actualizar. Como fue un arranque de euforia y emoción el que me llevo a abrir esta cuenta, no repare en lo que habia hecho hasta que apareció el post automático diseñado por wordpress.

Entonces para despejar mis dudas y las de los visitantes, a continuación una autoentrevista realizada por el magnánimo Esteban Delgado al Misericordioso y benefactor de las masas oprimidas… Esteban Delgado

Esteban el Magnánimo: Primero que todo nuevamente llegas tarde a nuestra cita, espero no vuelva a ocurrir… pero dejemos a un lado los temas de tiempo y espacio para cuando tengas ganas de postearlo… asi que felicitaciones por el nuevo blog que espero esta ves lo uses

E-M: ¿De que se trata verdades absolutas?

E-M-B-M: Verdades absolutas es un blog donde encontraras ese espacio variado que no consigues en otra clase de blogs: se hablara de música, cine, literatura (de ese no tanto), diseño gráfico, paintball, comics…

E-M: Pero ya existen sitios especializados en temas de cultura similares y por ahora mejores, ¿Por que el tuyo va a ser diferente?

E-M-B-M: El mío tiene un nombre cool

E-M: No es la respuesta que esperaba, pero bueno al menos tienes una. ¿Dime porque verdades absolutas?

E-M-B-M: Pues… porque, ehh, noo, siii, emm, ¡AH! es porque siempre tengo al razón.

E-M: Bueno… em, lo que sea; dime, ¿cual será tu primer tema a tratar?

E-M-B-M: creo que va a ser al verdad absoluta N° 2: “Aceptar nuestro destino, como poder sobrevivir a nuestra mala suerte; la condición de ser humanamente Zombies”.

E-M: Muy interesante, bueno la verdad es que me agote de (ideas) hacer preguntas sabiendo de antemano la respuesta, así que por ahora no me queda mas que desearte la mejor de las suertes en esta nueva “odisea”.

E-M-B-M: … ok.

Así termina por hoy nuestro primer post, esperamos que todas sus dudas sobre Verdades absolutas hallan sido disipadas y podamos tener un nuevo encuentro por aquí o en otro blog si me canso de hacer este.
